Monster eat my Lunch !!!!

I passed by an oriental bakery at the city and bought a few BBQ pork Buns which I used in my bento.  This term my youngest son will be taught mostly about planets, spaceships and monsters (the good  ones), so inspired by that I made an Alien monster in my kids lunch boxes.........

I used cheese sticks to make the eyes, teeth and the so called antenas..... together with that, I packed fruit tart for dessert, some cherry tomatoes, grapes, oranges, crab sticks and quail eggs.

Chinese New year 2011 bento

Gong Xi Fa Cai......... Happy Chinese New Year of rabbit to all my friends and family and to those who have visited my blog........
Its been quite a while since I updated my blog, first of all its due to school holidays...... and after the kids started to return school, and start doing bento again, my parents and siblings actually came to Perth to visit me (so happy), and so super busy that I dont have time to update my blog.
The school actually start on Wednesday which falls just right on Chinese new year's eve, where we had our family reunion dinner together.  I had to prepare bento and at the same time I had to help out to prepare the steam boat food for family dinner, so stressed out.
In this bento I packed  ham and cheese sandwich cut in a jigsaw puzzle cutter and top of that I decorate them with rabbit made of cheese, and some srawberries for fruit and for breakie I packed them some rice crackers and cream cheese and some Kue Bolu (Indonesian/Malaysian mini sponge cake) that my parents have brought from Singapore.

Hi.... I just had a new blog today, very excited indeed.......... I just started doing bento a couple of weeks ago for my children, so I thought I will keep them as memory in this blog.  Hopefully I could meet alot of friends here that could share some tips in bento making as I'm still a beginner.
I am starting to collect different types of bento tools, accessories and books. Its like having a new hobby allover again, and very happy about it as I am doing these for my loved dear ones my three children Laurence (10 years old), Vivien (8 years old), and Raegan (6 years old).

Too excited that I already shared a few pictures that I had made last week for my children school lunches.
In this lunch, I made tuna sandwich, top with meatloaf ham, cheese and green eggsheet decorated with star sprinkles. for side dish I packed salt and pepper squid (tomato sauce in container) and rainbow hamburger biscuits.

My children had their end of year holiday now, so will start bento making again next year February.  Wishing to all my family and friends, and everybody that visited my blog a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year !!!!!!!

Chicken Katsu with rice

In this lunch, I attempted to use rice mold for the bento, I put on some nori eyes on the rice.  side dish will be chicken katsu, ham rolled asparagus and carrot, omelet and carrot, pea, corn and egg salad with mayonnaise dressing in it.

The Snowman

Christmas is coming, I made a ham and cheese sandwich top with snowman chicken and ham polony.  Seafood patties and wiener rolled with omelet as snack and a few slices of oranges for dessert.
